Boneless skinless chicken thighs: I don't recommend using bone-in thighs as they take quite a bit longer to cook and by the time they are done the herbs will have burned up. Olive oil: Stick with olive oil for best flavor in this recipe, I don't recommend substitutes. Lemon juice: Only use fresh lemon juice.. Achari Chicken Tikka is boneless chicken chunks marinated in Achari masala, yogurt, and other spices and grilled to juicy perfection.

Steps to make Grilled Achari Garlic Chicken:
  1. Clean the chicken drumsticks and make cuts on them. Make a paste of garlic, red chilli powder, pickle, oil and salt with little water.
  2. Smear this paste all over the chicken drumsticks and marinate for 2-3 hours or preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. Line a baking tray with foil and arrange the marinated chicken legs over it. Grill for 30-35 minutes by basting with oil / leftover marinade and flipping them halfway through.
  4. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve them hot with green chutney.

You can use chicken breasts or chicken thighs for preparing this tikka. Traditionally, tikkas are cooked in a tandoor. However, you can grill or barbecue as well. As much as I love a less-than-mainstream cut of meat, I cannot deny myself the simple pleasure of grilled chicken thighs, particularly if those thighs have been marinated in yogurt and garlic salt. In remaining achari masala,add garlic,ginger,curry leaves,mustard oil,lemon juice,blend to make a paste & set aside.
