  1. Take 1 . Toor dal - 1/4 cup
  2. Prepare 2 . Masoor dal - 1/4 cup

  20. Make ready 6 . Curry leaves - 1 string
  21. Take 7 . Red chilli - 1 broken

Methi dal is prepared in almost all regions of India and there are not many ways to make it. Methi dal recipe - Mix of toor dal, masoor dal and moong dal cooked with fenugreek leaves. In this Methi dal recipe, I have added onion, tomatoes which give nice taste to the dal. And don't forget to add little lemon juice at the end.

Instructions to make Methi Dal:
  1. In pressure cooker add toor dal, masoor dal and wash in cold running water. Wash methi leaves and add this with dal.
  2. Add chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, garlic, turmeric, hing, salt and oil. Add water and whistle about 5 count or cook until done according to your pressure cooker. You can cook dal in your own style also.
  3. Release the pressure and mash the dal and add another cup of water let it boil. When it start boiling add handful of coriander leaves.
  4. Take off this and keep aside. Heat ghee in another kadai add mustard, cumin, red chilli, chopped shallot, curry leaves. Once mustard done crackling pour this over dal adjust salt level and serve hot with steamed rice with dollop of ghee.
