  8. Sprinkle flour over the dough. Place the dough into a lined bread in or dish. Score the top with a sharp knife several times. Cover loosley with foil or a lid. Put into a preheated oven at 220C for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Uncover and bake for a further 30 minutes until golden.
  10. Slice and enjoy.

It has a crisp crust and distinctive sourdough flavor from the "starter" yeast mixture you stir up in advance. Add milk and softened butter or margarine. Spray the loaves with lukewarm water and dust generously with flour. Make two fairly deep diagonal slashes in each; a serrated bread knife, wielded firmly, works well here. Remove it from the oven, and cool on a rack.
