  8. Simmer meatballs in pan with tomato sauce and serve with spaghetti

To brown the meatballs, heat olive oil in a heavy pot or large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove and drain on a paper towel after each batch. In the same pot, add the onions and garlic and cook for a few minutes, or until translucent. (Meatballs can be frozen for longer, but tend to develop freezer burn.) Thaw meatballs in the refrigerator overnight before cooking. Freezing cooked meatballs: Let the cooked meatballs cool completely, then arrange in a single layer on baking sheet and freeze until solid. Remove and turn meatballs if browned already on bottom (use a thin metal spatula to scrape from baking sheet if needed).
