  16. Take 2 tsp Sambar powder
  17. Take As needed Salt
  18. Take 2 tbsp grated coconut
  19. Prepare leaves To garnish Coriander
  20. Make ready 1 tsp Gingelly oil

In Iran it is traditionally served with fish. It should not be sticky or paste like. Adding little Ghee while cooking rice will make it non-sticky. Add the cooked split fava beans and stir gently.

Instructions to make Broad beans Rice:
  1. Heat wide pan add oil. Once hot add mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Once mustard splutter add urad dal, channal dal. Once channa dal slightly roasted add curry leaves and peanuts. Roast them now nicely.

Now add chopped onion, ginger. Add little salt and saute for couple of minutes. Add chopped tomatoes. Now add broad beans, turmeric and hing. Add sambar powder, close with lid and cook until it turns mushy.

  1. Once oil starts to come out add enough salt. Now mix the rice thoroughly. Garnish with grated coconut, coriander leaves and 1 tsp of gingelly oil.

Cook until all the water is evaporated. Then turn the heat down to very low. Drizzle the rest of the oil over the rice, wrap the pot lid in a clean kitchen towel and tightly cover the pot.
