Steps to make Easy Brownies!:
  1. Preheat oven to 180° Celsius.
  2. Line a 8" diameter baking dish with parchment paper. Then brush it with 1 tbsp of oil.
  3. In a big bowl, whisk together butter and cocoa powder.
  4. Add the sugar and whisk till the sugar almost dissolves.
  5. Next add the egg and the vanilla essence. Mix till the batter looks a bit shiny/glazed.
  6. Now slowly add the flour, and combine with the rest of the batter.
  7. Add the baking powder, salt, and the remaining 2 tbsp of the oil. If you are using walnuts, then add them now.
  8. Whisk till all the ingredients get incorporated into each other. However, be careful not to "overmix" the batter.
  9. Pour this thick batter into the pan, and spread it out with a spatula. If you are using chocolate chips, then add these on top of the batter.
  10. Put it in the oven. Bake for 10-13 mins. Poke with a toothpick in the centre. If it comes out clean, the brownies are done.
  11. Once out of the oven, let it rest for 5 mins.
  12. Dust with powdered sugar. Then cut into pieces.
